Cyber Essentials is a set of basic technical controls that organisations should have in place to protect themselves against common online security threats. By holding Cyber Essentials certification, an organisation demonstrates its clear commitment to the cyber security of its customers and suppliers.
As well as being best practice, the government requires all suppliers bidding for contracts that involve the handling of certain sensitive and personal information to hold this certificate.
